How do I become a member?
to serving Jesus Christ. If you desire to join with us, we enthusiastically invite you to become a member. You can
do this by presenting yourself for membership during any worship service. Near the end of each service we sing an “invitation hymn.” This is your invitation to become a member of ABBC and gives you the opportunity to move to the front of the auditorium and speak to one of our pastors about membership.
Requirements for membership:
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior
- An experience of believers’ baptism—baptism by immersion as a witness that Jesus is your Lord and Savior (not baptism for salvation)
- A willingness to become a vital part of the life and ministry of ABBC.
ABBC accepts members in the following ways:
- Profession of Faith - If you have never committed yourself to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior you will be given the opportunity to do so (someone will help you understand how). After confirming your decision, an appointment will be made for your baptism.
- Transfer of Membership from another Southern Baptist Church - If you are currently a member of another Southern Baptist Church, you will be received upon a promise of you “letter of membership” from that church. ABBC will contact that church to request your membership transfer.
- Statement of Faith - If you know that you have previously committed your life to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and experienced Believers’ Baptism, we will be happy to receive you as a member. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord but not experienced Believers’ Baptism, it will be necessary for you to be baptized.
After completing these steps we will joyfully receive you as a member of Alice Bell Baptist Church.
NOTE: You can become a member of a Bible study group prior to professing Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and being baptized. This will give you the opportunity to learn more about Jesus and the beliefs of ABBC, which will assist you in making a commitment.
