King David was not allowed to build the LORD’s house. But he did have the opportunity
to provide for the building of the temple. And, as he proclaimed in 1 Chronicles 28:2, he
'did his best.' He did his best to provide so that the LORD’s house could be its best.

We now have the opportunity to provide for the LORD’s house here at Alice Bell. The church has adopted My Best 4 His House as the theme for our capital stewardship emphasis which will help to fund ABBC’s building needs.

My Best 4 His House consists of a two part campaign.

  • The initial campaign, Preparing for His House, will take place from now until October 2. During that time you will receive information which will help you to better understand the needs and prepare your gift for Giving My Best , a “first-fruits offering” which will be received October 2. This will be a day in which the Lord can show us what He can do through us as we Prepare for His House.

  • The second or extended phase of the campaign, Building His House, begins October 3 and continues through October 2014.

Initial key dates in this campaign are:

  • October 23 (AM) will be “Commitment Day.” You will have the opportunity make a
commitment to give the gift that the Lord places on your heart. Your commitment will be for three years, but can be given in any form you wish-weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually, or in a lump-sum at any time during those three years.

  • October 23 (PM) will be “Celebration Day.” We will meet in a time of thanksgiving and celebration during the evening worship hour.

  • October 30 will be the first day that we will officially begin receiving our regular My Best 4 His House offerings.

Throughout the campaign you will receive regular updates and opportunities to be involved in ways besides giving.

Several task-groups will be active throughout the campaign, led by members of the Expanded Building and Grounds Committee. You may be asked to serve with one of these groups or you may want to volunteer to serve with a group:
